SPOILER ALERT !

There are 8 of us in a round robin sharing pages of art in our journals and each month we complete 2 pages and send on the book to the next person in order. By the end of the year, we will each have a journal with pages of inspiration unique from each artist.

This is the first round robin I have been involved in and I must say it was a little intimidating to begin with... I mean writing/creating in someone's journal with the possibility of messing it up, raised the fear level a bit. But then, I started thinking about creating in my own journal and how it is not really much different. With Art Journaling, there isn't much that you can't fix or do -over.  But a do-over in someone else's journal is .. hummm ... still a little scarey.

So I started thinking of it as just working in my own journal. Although, working in my own, I am a little more grungier and a lot more messier .... so I haven't totally let go , but the fear of messing up their journals is becoming less and I am enjoying it more.

We have a month to work in each one, but I am staying true to myself and working on mine in the 11th hour. I have always seem to work better under stress and time constraints.

The two pages in this journal are for Lisa (the Wright One).  It flies in the mail tomorrow!

The robin flies tomorrow to Stephanie's!
          Have a wonderful week ladies!

MAGNIFY ~ ARTIST'S PLAY ROOM CHALLENGE

I just love playing in Jenn's Artist's Play Room. Jenn is a fabulous artist and does the most amazing sketches! She challenges me to think outside box. If you haven't visited, I encourage you to check it out. She also has a blog that is ripping at the seams with Inspiration and loads of good information.

The challenge this week is: Magnify.

"SHE MAGNIFIED HER LIFE AS SHE WROTE ABOUT HER JOURNEY"

This one really threw me. I have to admit that I won't have a chance this week to jump in and create something brand new. Work and company are the challenge for me this week. However, I did already have a writing journal that I made that just fits the bill for this challenge so I using that for my submission for Magnify this week.

Have a wonderful week everyone. Check out the  Artist's Play Room  this week and MAGNIFY your Imagination and get Inspired!  See you there!

SCHOOL'S OUT

                                                       SCHOOL IS OUT

PARIS... HERE I COME ~*

I work at a college, so I know that when graduation is over and school is out, many lucky student's get to take that once in a life time trip before the reality of the real world sets in, called work.

I have been to PARIS many times. It is a little spot on the map called PARIS, ARKANSAS.
Not the Paris I had in mind, but it is a quaint little place and just to say it has such a nice ring to it.
I may never see PARIS, FRANCE  .. but I can DREAM it.

This is my submission for this week's challenge over at Inspiration Avenue Many thanks to  Lou Anne  who graciously hosted again this week.  Lou Anne  is a teacher and "SCHOOL is OUT", so she challenged us to get creative with this theme.

Last week I made a vintage paint box tin assemblage for the Mermaid theme.  I was working on another vintage paint box tin at the same time and just completed it. So needless to say, I was very excited to see the theme "SCHOOL IS OUT"  because given the opportunity,  I would be on my way to PARIS.

I hope you enjoy my submission and be sure and travel over to Inspiration Avenue to see what else is going on now that  SCHOOL IS OUT.

MERMAIDS

"She Sells Sea Shells by The Sea Shore ... She Dreams of Life Beyond the Shore"

The Challenge this week at Inspiration Avenue   is hosted by Lou Anne from Misplaced Mermaid.  It's no wonder that her she chose Mermaids as her theme.

If you visit Inspiration Avenue this week, her post about Mermaids is truly fascinating. I extremely happy when she posted this theme  because  I recently purchased some vintage watercolor paint box tins and I have been waiting for something to inspire me.  Thanks to Lou Anne, I found the theme challenge this week to be just the inspiration that I needed.

Vintage Artista Paint Box Tin by Binney & Smith

I left the vintage label on the top of the tin and I loved that the number on it was #16. That number has always been connected to something special in my life.  The original color of the tin was blue and perfect for a Mermaid theme.

Play in the warmth of the Sun ... Dance in the light of the Moon

Thank you for stopping in, I hope my Mermaid submission has inspired you to come and play and join in on the weekly challenges.
